A Candid Filled Backyard & Indoor Family Session
This natural backyard & indoor Columbus family session was months in the making. This mama first reached out to me back in February about hiring me to come photograph her family. She actually had the idea of doing part of her session inside her home before I had even officially announced that I was switching fully into in-home photography. It was like it was meant to be.
Mom & I texted back and forth for the months leading up to her session. During our session planning call, we talked through outfits, the ideas of what we wanted to do during their session, and so much more. All we needed was a sunny July day, and everything was going to be just so wonderful.
And when that sunny day rolled around, I got to work to tell the story of this little family through my eyes as the artist. I focused on creating connection, and helping moments unfold between the parents & their boys.
But here is something you should know: What if I told you this session was filled with chaos, and that none of this backyard & indoor family session went as we planned? After looking through these images, would you believe me?
I don’t think you would. I think you would look through these and think to yourself “Really Faith!? You are saying THIS session didn’t go to plan? These images are beautiful! I see so much joy, love, and connection. There is no way this session was chaotic!”
And yet, it was.
Hiring An Experienced Photographer
See, this is why it is so important who you hire to photograph your family. As a seasoned Columbus Family Photographer, I don’t get fazed by chaos during a session. Instead, I lean into it and focus on working alongside the chaos to see the moments that are unfolding between the children & their parents.
This natural backyard and indoor family session had “firsts” for me that I have never experienced before in all of my years in photographing families. And yet it is one of my favorite sessions I have ever done.
So let this session be a visual example of why it matter so much who you hire as your photographer. Because when you hire someone who knows their craft, they can create beauty like this no matter how much chaos is unfolding around them.
Thank you, C Family, for trusting me and allowing me to create photographs like this for you to cherish for decades to come.
