Your home is a living storybook. It’s the backdrop to your messy, beautiful, real life—the place where your family feels themselves entirely. You don't need a perfectly pristine house or stiff, coordinated outfits to create meaningful art. My goal is to capture your family in the most authentic way possible, right where your everyday magic happens. From the chaotic laughter in the kitchen to the quiet cuddles on the living room couch, I’m here to document the honest, unscripted moments that make your family's story uniquely yours.
During your session planning call, we will talk through some ideas of what we could do during your pictures. I like to do activities that are normal for your family to do together. This way, these images truly reflect the season of life you are in.
Session times are carefully planned for the best lighting. My in-home sessions are scheduled for 10 am on Monday-Friday, as I find that this time has the best light + also the best attitudes for our little friends ;)
Natural light is such an essential part of the way I create the images I do. Because of that, I am always going to suggest we reschedule if it is looking like a cloudy day. Ultimately, I will leave the final decision up to you, but I am always going to suggest we wait for a day that has ample sunshine.
This is a very common fear. But I want you to think about the photos you have of yourself in your own childhood home. Think of the dated wallpaper, and the plaid couches in the background. Doesn't it fill your heart with so much nostalgia to see little you in that space? That is how your own kids will feel looking at these images someday.
In order to officially have your date reserved on my calendar, a contract must be signed, and a $400 retainer must be paid. This retainer goes towards the final cost of your session, and your remaining balance is not due until the date of your session. Your date will only be held once the contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid.
All we need is one window with sun pouring in, and we will be all set! I care way more about the light in a room than the title a room has. So if your unfinished bonus room gets the best light, we will shoot there!
Most days, my kids are glued to my side. I know the days of them being this way are numbered, and that has made me appreciate all of the little moments more.
So when it comes to photographing your family, I know just what to look for, because I have been in the season you are in. I want you to see your family through my eyes, so that you can not only see, but feel just how beautiful this chapter is.
The day is finally here! I run my sessions in a way where I let moments unfold while also guiding when necessary. My sessions are very relaxed, and we aren't on a time crunch! The time flows from moment to moment, and I stay until I feel like I have created what I was envisioning for your session.
Once you are officially booked, we will walk through every aspect of your session during a session planning call. We will discuss outfits, what activities we might do during the photos, and the lighting in your home.
One week (YES you read that right) after your session, you will receive your final gallery! From there, you will be able to download and print to your heart's content! Then it is time to enjoy the photographs for decades to come.
First, let's get to know each other over a Zoom call. These calls are roughly 20 minutes long. We go over your vision for your family photos, my process & packages, and so much more! This way, you are fully prepped on what you can expect while working with me.
