Those first few weeks with a newborn are a beautiful, fleeting blur—a season defined by the quiet wonder of staring at your baby, the soft rhythm of hazy morning cuddles, and a fierce, tender love that completely reshapes your world. Your home is the living storybook where this irreplaceable season unfolds, holding the memories of these exact days long after they pass. My goal is to photograph you and your newborn in the most authentic way possible, capturing the raw, honest beauty of how it actually feels to hold your new world in your arms. I’m here to preserve the magic of this short chapter, freezing these tender feelings in time so you can return to them forever, right from the comfort of the space where it all began.
Session times are carefully planned for the best lighting. My in-home sessions are scheduled for 10 am on Monday-Friday, as I find that this time has the best light + also the best attitudes for our little friends ;)
Do not worry about this one bit! I am a bit of a baby whisperer, so I am not worried. We also have plenty of time, so if we need to stop & feed your baby every 5 minutes because they are upset, that is no big deal.
All of my clients receive a welcome guide via email once they book with me, which provides lots of helpful information for their session and for outfits. I suggest wearing something that you will feel comfortable & confident in, freshly postpartum.
Natural light is such an essential part of the way I create the images I do. Because of that, I am always going to suggest we reschedule if it is looking like a cloudy day. Ultimately, I will leave the final decision up to you, but I am always going to suggest we wait for a day that has ample sunshine.
This is a very common fear. But I want you to think about the photos you have of yourself in your own childhood home. Think of the dated wallpaper, and the plaid couches in the background. Doesn't it fill your heart with so much nostalgia to see little you in that space? That is how your own kids will feel looking at these images someday.
My newborn sessions are scheduled for the month you are due, and we pick a date once your baby arrives. In order to officially have your spot reserved on my calendar, a contract must be signed , and a $400 retainer must be paid. This retainer goes towards the final cost of your session, and your remaining balance is not due until the date of your newborn session.
I skipped the newborn photos when I had my first baby, and 8 years later, this is still one of my biggest regrets. Learn from me: give your future self the gift of having this season of motherhood preserved through photos. Newborn sessions are more than just documenting all of the tiny baby features. They are meant for the version of you in 30 years who is going to desperately want to remember what it felt like to hold her newborn in her arms. It's one of the greatest gifts you can give her. And the "thank you" card from her is already on its way ;)
The day is finally here! I run my sessions in a way where I let moments unfold while also guiding when necessary. We have plenty of time for any sudden diaper changes, nursing sessions, or anything else that pops up! You just had a baby, and I am here to care for you throughout the entire process to make sure you feel like your most glamorous postpartum self!
Once you are officially booked, we will walk through every aspect of your session during a newborn session planning call. We will discuss outfits, what activities we might do during the photos, and the lighting in your home.
One week (YES you read that right) after your session, you will receive your final gallery! From there, you will be able to download and print to your heart's content! Then it is time to enjoy the photographs for decades to come.
First, let's get to know each other over a Zoom call. These calls are roughly 20 minutes long. We go over your vision for your newborn photos, my process & packages, and so much more! This way, you are fully prepped on what you can expect while working with me.
