A Twist on the traditional in-home newborn session experience
Have you ever considered the idea of waiting to do your session with your baby until they are about 3-4 months old? Now hang with me, because I know this feels so different from how in-home newborn sessions are traditionally done. As a Columbus, Ohio Newborn Photographer, I have worked with so many moms who have their newborn session within the first 3 weeks after baby is born. There are so many benefits to doing this, like getting to have your baby docummented in that precious newborn stage where they are still so incredibly small.
But I would argue that there are just as many benefits to waiting a bit to do your session, and I want to break it down with you today.
What if you waited a few months?
Let me paint a picture for you: you had your sweet baby, and you get to spend those first 3 months really settling into your new routine as a family. When that 3-month timeframe rolls around, you get to get ready for your session while feeling just a touch more rested than you would have been if we had done pictures 2 weeks after you got home from the hospital. Another great perk is that your baby is really starting to settle into their own looks & tiny glimpses of their personality are really starting to show.
During your in-home newborn session, you can focus fully on playing with your baby, rather than just holding a sleeping baby the whole time. As a Columbus photographer who has done many newborn sessions, I love pivoting from the traditional newborn session experience to create images that feel true to life for this family & the new routine they have created together as a unit.
These are some of my new favorite photographs, and I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do.
