How I create images that make you feel something

These fun and relaxed newborn photos at home in Reynoldsburg are basically everything I want to photograph every day of my life. Give me a family that is totally down for laughing together & having fun, and I will be a happy photographer. That is what made this cozy summer newborn session so wonderful.

So much of my job as a Columbus Newborn Photographer is to capture what is already unfolding right in front of my lens. But in order for me to be able to do that well, I have to first know the story of the family I am working with.

Imagine this: you hire a private chef to come to your home to cook for your family. You’ve seen so many of the chefs’ recipes online, and they all look delicious. But you didn’t think to mention to the chef that one of your kids hates eating green foods, or that your daughter is obsessed with anything chocolate. Or maybe you forgot to mention that your family really loves Italian food.

How can you expect the chef to prepare a meal that your whole family not only loves, but leaves you all wanting more?

That’s exactly how I opporate my sessions. I learn all about your family before hand. I ask about the things your kids like, the games you all like to play together, the way your kids interact with one another. I learn about all of this so that I can give you all an experience that leaves you feeling seen as a family.

Summer Newborn Session Benefits

The best part about being an in-home-only photographer in Columbus is that we never have to worry about hot & humid weather. For this session, it was a very hot & humid September morning, but that didn’t bother us one bit because we were all cozy inside with the AC pumping.

Mom gets to get ready for her pictures and just walk right downstairs to have her session with me. No rushing around to get out the door, gathering up the diaper bag, making sure you have bottles with you. Instead, I come right to your home, and you don’t have to lift a finger once I arrive! 🙂

I’m telling you, doing your newborn session at home is where it’s at. If you are worried that your home might not be “cute enough” to have your session there, this blog post might be helpful for you 🙂
